A new vendor inspection study released on Monday revealed that 31% of PBS concession vendors committed critical violations in 2009. The study looked at venues in each of the four major professional sports.
Specifically, the Bengals concession stands were called out for keeping hot dogs at unsafe temperatures, in addition to other critical violations. Anyone who has had a bad hot dog (and food poisoning as a result) knows that this is a serious violation. Throwing up at Bengals games in the past 20 years has generally been a common theme, however mostly it's been a result of the product on the field.
The question is this, will Bengals brass now hold Aramark (their food service partner) to task over these violations? Or is it just business as usual and the debut of a new "Mikey Boy" Coney for 2010.
One thing I won't do is eat anything at a sporting event in Florida. Check the entire report out here.
