Lost amidst this week spent enjoying a season sweep of the Steelers is the just how dysfunctional the Raiders are. It's staggering really. How the Lions and Rams have managed to out suck them the past few years is beyond me.
Now, to be fair, Al Davis at one point had success with the one owner/gm model. But, to paraphrase Austin Powers, the train has long since sailed on the ability of Al to continue to pull it off. I may not like the decisions coming from the mind of Mike Brown, but at least I know the mind of Mike Brown is not insane.
Al is gone. He is lost. There will be no return to competence for him. His age has caught up with him. And his senile, paranoid, psychosis would be kind of sad...if it wasn't so damn funny.
So enjoy this link to every KSK post tagged with "Count Al". Should take up the rest of your Friday.

"I may not like the decisions coming from the mind of Mike Brown, but at least I know the mind of Mike Brown is not insane."
I am sorry, but I can give Mike Brown no such quarter (i.e. regrettably, and on the contrary, he is very much insane), except that even a broken clock is right twice a day.
However, your mentionings do make Sunday's matchup all the more interesting to me:
At best, Mike Brown may see some reflection of himself, that will terrify and repulse him into changing his ways, marking a new beginning for himself and the Bengals (including Bengals fans).
Meanwhile, Al Davis will see no reflection at all...

Did anyone see this article about re-vamping (no pun intended) the Bills? Food for thought... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/nfl/11/19/bills.changes.ap/index.html

I almost want to take down that picture of Al because it's so creepy. Almost.

Did I say 'regrettably and on the contrary' ?
That should say 'on the contrary, regrettably'

Didn't the raiders go to the super bowl 6 years or so ago, and don't the bengals have the leagues worst win percentage and 0 playoff wins the past 19? As bad as the raiders have been, I don't know if this great season makes the bengals so much better (plus al scores points for being terrorfying).

Mike Brown is the definition of insane: Keep doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. Hire a GM!
