We're going to try something new. It may be weekly, it may be bi-weekly, it may be monthly, or you may never see it again. We'll be picking out the best of what comes into our inbox and posting it. These emails have only been edited with spacing and whatnot for easier reading. While most of the emails are fine writing, they should all be taken with one giant [sic]. Thanks for reading and writing.
Reader Todd has an unusual and useful donation:
Hey guys, I love the site and want to contribute by giving you my site that i gave up on years ago but still own.
http://who-dey.com
I would like it to be setup as a redirect.
Well thanks, Todd! As you can see, who-dey.com now redirects right here to WDR. Hopefully some more people stumble across here. Next, we have Adam, who has some useful information if you ever happen to be in the Nashville area on a Bengals' Sunday:
First off Who Dey! I manage a bar in Nashville called the Gold Rush. I am trying to get a bunch of fellow revolutionaries to come join me. We have awesome drink specials and serve bar food and brunch. I hope you can get the word out on the street.
If its Brown flush it down!!
So there you go. Gold Rush. Next up we have Robert, who has penned this classic, which he titled "An Open Thank You to Mikey B." Take it away, Robert:
Mikey the time has come for me to publicly thank you for being so incompetent. You see for the past 24 seasons I have spent every home game in the stadium watching the Bengals. My fall Sundays were scheduled based on the team home games. I could/would not make plans for anything in the fall until the season schedule was announced in April. This year is different as I no longer purchase your product.
Yet this weekend I will still be in a NFL stadium, just not watching ball this time. You see Mikey I’ll be in Soldier Field this Saturday night watching U2 and for that I have you to thank. You alone caused this to happen because if you and The Family were not so inept I would be in PBS. Instead the weekend will be spent w/ the wife and kids in Chicago watching some real pros actually entertain.
And the money I would have spent on tickets? Some went to Best Buy for 2 sweet HD sets, some to NFL Red Zone (which does show drives from blacked out games it turns out) and U2 tickets. Oh and to WDR for banners, etc. $7 beers? Getting almost a whole 6 pack for the $7 and I don’t have to stop drinking at half for the drive home, or wait in line to recycle. Think I came out all right.
Viva Mikey Viva
Maybe Mike Brown does have our interests at heart after all! And he even helped the economy! Reader Jade checked in with an observation from WDR favorite and fantasy heartbreaker Chris Henry's radio spot with Lance:
After watching the first game, I payed very close attention to how this new look offense would appear. Unfortunately I didn't see much difference. It was the same ol' vanilla play after vanilla play on first down. They did not utilize weapons like B Scott, who by my eyes was absolutely electric when he got the rock in the pre season. In watching this go down I thought to myself, damn....they got us again! Just like they got us when they acted as if they were looking into hiring a GM last year. Just like they got us many times in years past with buffoonery and false optimism at the end of each despicable year.
I took it upon myself to take advantage of Chris Henry on the radio answering questions to try to squeeze a little truth out of this organization and just as I expected, he let me know that there is no "new scheme". I asked Chris, and I'm paraphrasing here, Chris you have been here for a few years, how tough was it to adapt to a new scheme/playbook this year as apposed to already knowing in years past? He said, it really isn't different at all, maybe a few new wrinkles here and there, but all and all its the same.
Unreal! I think what he meant to say was there are some old wrinkles in there, mainly Bob Bratkowski's old ass scheme that has proved to work consistently for 1 year since 2002. This offense needs a young, vibrant OC that has aspirations of one day becoming a head coach, not some old ass Mike Brownoser that is content with sitting in a booth and calling vanilla play after vanilla play. Why is he not on the field at least communicating with the players face to face! He could at least try it out and see if that makes a difference!
Anyways, I love what you guys do and I think it would be easier to get Bob outta here than to get a GM that knows what he is doing, maybe focusing on him would be a nice step to seeing something done. Thanks guys.
When I emailed Jade to see if we could run this email, Jade said, "sure I don't mind....it doesn't matter to me if you use my name or not....2nd amendment..haha." Now, either Jade is confused about the amendments, or plans to take up arms if the Bengals come after him for this email. Either way, I'm happy. Finally, Patrick tells us about a "new" Bengals jersey that we should all support:
I just wanted to share with you the new and just released Mike Brown jersey. It is a great feeling having a Bengals jersey of a person who will never leave via free agency, get cut, get arrested and suspended indefinitely, get traded or retire. Just think of all the $ I will be saving.
Viva!!

Patrick I have tears from laughing so hard.
That jersey is a classic.
Major props to you.
And as a follow up U2 was incredible. On the way back from Chicago sometime during the 3rd quarter I asked my 17 yr old if he wished we still had tickets; he started laughing hysterically. There is a rumor U2 may hit the States again in 2010, if it happens I encourage all fans TO GO.

Comrade Robert,
I am curious - did you send this letter to MB?
Posted by: Robinsgr | September 18, 2009 at 12:22 PM
Great idea for a post and i hope you stick with it. We all appreciate the time the writers put in everyday to make this site what it is but i think its important to have letters like these be seen to remind everyone that we are in this fight together. I guess what im trying to say is its comforting to see others stand up and tell mikey boy to go fuck himself. thanks guys keep fighting.

I think When you guys are at Black finn you should have a few copies with staps on it then say sell it for a buck. Put the profit towards the next goal.

That letter is awesome and depressing at the same time....You could send it to MB but, it would have to pass through his minions first, so he prob wouldn't see it.

Jade, if I am not mistaken, Bratkowski was down on the field at one time during his tenor here and I believe it was when LeBLOW was here and then when ML got here he put him up in the booth because they had decided he could do so much better of a job from way up high where he could see the whole field. So how has it worked out so far, well, if he is upstairs or down on the field it does not matter because he will always be HORRIBLE!
