The results on the field haven't been good for the Reds the last 10 years, but at least Castellini and Co. are doing everything they can to keep their fans happy. From C Trent's spot comes the news that the Reds are bringing back $5 tickets, but more importantly, A FREAKING DOLLAR MENU!!! I have had dreams, very pleasing ones, where dollar hot dogs are involved. I think the only thing sold at Paul Brown for a dollar is extra jalapenos for the nachos.
The Reds are like the bizzaro Bengals. Things get bad in the economy, the Reds try to assuage their fans with cost friendly maneuvers. The Bengals, on the other hand, are spending more money on lawyers to battle it out in court with their paying customers than they do on scouting and front office personnel combined. The Reds plan for the future looks promising at the moment. That is of course as long as Dusty doesn't bring Patterson back to keep the basepaths unclogged. The Bengals vision for the future involves franchising kickers, signing washed up veterans and rooting for the Steelers in the playoffs.
Go Reds.

Dont forget the Bengals vision for the future also includes having the best website in the NFL. haha
GO REDS!

Did anyone catch that article by Baghdad, 'Brown Salutes Roone'? I wonder if anyone would ever salute Mike Brown for his contributions to the city, league, and team. Nope! Never!

Hey who is the washed up veteran?? Maybe it has something to do with the Reds' stands being empty every game. Supply and demand smart guy.

Not just a dollar menu...but FIVE DOLLAR BEERS!!! I know that is still expensive for 14oz of an alcoholic beer flavored water product, but it is better than you can get at any other MLB stadium, as far as I know.

the washed up veteran was coles, the jets cut him for a reason so the smart thing to do was sign him to 4 years for 28mil? hmm somehow that dosnt seem right. someone needs to tell mike brown to stop taking tips from isiahh thomas

Coles has never had a dynamic qb tossing to him. Lets wait til next season until we call some one washed up.

please don't compare the Bengals to the Browns. We suck up here now, but we'll get better eventually. You guys... not so much.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to the Reds. At least they show promise

sorry for double stamping...
@js
Brownengals is more a reference to Mike Brown and not so much a reference to the Browns.

@ Matt
We sign our washed up vet usually after the draft. Plus Kaesviharn's on the market...
And for the empty seats, PBS's actual attendance is going to be a joke this year.

There's a difference between winning and losing and there's also a difference between trying hard and losing and just plain losing. That's the difference between the Reds and the Bengals.
Gestures like this show that the Reds GET IT, for lack of a better word. They might not improve on the field, but they are demonstrating an acute awareness that SOMETHING has to improve to make going to a Reds game a better experience for the fan. That means something to the customer. It shows the customer: "hey, this business understands that they need to earn my buck, they can't just expect it automatically." The Bengals, namely the ownership and family, treat the fan with contempt (intended or not) by saying "the product is already well worth paying for as it is so why should we change anything?"
Not all sports teams can be winners, but every franchise has the capability of showing that they "get it." The Bengals don't.

That is part of MFB's revenue and he will not give up a dime, but I will say this though, the GAB seats 42K and they have 81 games a year there compared to PBS seats about 66K and only 8 games a year there. I would say, the Reds need to lower their prices compared to the Bengals for sure since the Reds could possibly pull in over 3M people a year compared to the Bengals only pulling in 528K. I big difference if you ask me. I do get your point though.

no way this happens with the bengals:

Mikey is heavily sudsidized by TV-the Reds are not. PBS could be empty and Brown would still make money.
