He definitely needs to have surgery or whatever needs done so he's 100% for next year.

I was watching this game in Philly yesterday and all I can say is that I thought it was hilarious how pissed and dejected the Eagles' fans were. Donavan McNabb needs to hang up the cleats or become an alcoholic and hope for a Kerry "Don't call me Tom" Collins rejuvenation.
On a separate note, I hear that CP9 will probably need to get Tommy John's surgery and that the recovery time for that is MUCH greater than his ACL tear. They already rushed him back too quickly for that, so I hope for his sake that they take their time with the elbow reconstruction because God knows we don't need to ruin his career indefinitely with some shoddy decision making from the incompetent medical advisers/doctors/whatever they claim to be supposedly looking out for his best interests.
Thirdly, can we PLEASE resign Housh. Without him, we will truly become irrelevant.
PS - How can a guy who purportedly scored a perfect on the Wonderlic Test get so confused when it comes to realizing that he is QB and not RB? Screw Harvard.

Yes - get the surgery now and rest for next year... no sense making the injury worse or rushing back. Use the rest of the season to give some of the new guys real game experience that they can't mimic in practice.

See, Eagles suck just doesn't get it. He doesn't realize that the Bengals are (and have been for quite some time...) irrelevant!
Seriously, this is the whole problem with Mikey Boy Brown and the Bengals... All the boycotting in the world isn't going to do ANYTHING! Now, I know there was this female 'Tool' on the pre-pre-game radio show with Ken Broo from Channel 5, yappin' about how a boycott of the concession stands would only hurt those charitable organizations who occasionally 'run' them; would harm local vendors and suppliers whose 'goods' wouldn't be purchased etc... but what that lonely, lonely female doesn't understand is that when one boycott's (and sucessfully so) in a situation like this, it is up to those vendors etc., to contact the person who is the target of the boycott and put collective pressure on him that 'we' the fan, cannot. Hello, Miss Tool! Do you even have a friggin' brain?
Ayhow, I digress! Back to the problem(s) with trying to financially harm Mikey Boy Brown in an effort for him to release control of the team etc. Go run the numbers. Let's say that at the start of next season, MBB doesn't sell a ticket -- he gets NO revenue from tickets and/or PSL's. Now I know that this is impossible but even showing the worst case scenario and how it will not help wrest control from MBB should be thought of as just an illustration of how 'bad' things really are.
Mikey Boy Brown (MBB) could lose ALL of his revenue from ALL sources save his revenue sharing program through the NFL and still make a profit after paying out all the salaries, operating expenses etc. LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN! MBB could have no other income other than the REVENUE SHARING PLAN in the NFL and he could still live a VERY NICE lifestyle. You have to understand that he never lived the life of opulence and avant garde. He has a house. It is paid for. He probably drives a '89 Buick Le Sabre for his good days out in the public and probably teeters around in a 1978 Renault LeCar at other times! He doesn't have to have five pounds of gold jewelry hangin' 'round his neck -- unlike so many other foolish people he employs... His net income (I would bet) could be about $100,000 a year and he would be VERY comfortable with that. Thus he has no wants or needs to give him incentive to go about acquiring more money but even more so, he has no incentive to do so with regards to football.
MBB doesn't care what we 'fans' want. He doesn't need us. He has no incentive to want to improve -- because he doesn't care so long as his financial interests are met. As Billy Bidwell about this or look up the Chicago Blackhawks and Bill Wirtz! They also were in the same position. They basically told their fans to 'go eat cake.'
Until the NFL puts forth some understanding that allows for teams the incentive to get better, things aren't going to change with MBB.
If MBB was told by the Commissioner (I know he won't but let's dream a bit shall we?) that eithe rthe team gets better or he has to relinquish control fo the team to the NFL or another party, MBB, would bring up the Anti-Trust exemption that the NFL has with the 'gummint' and that (as they say...): is that!
Unfortunately I can't offer up a solution to MBB right now (see above) or in the future -- such as: If MBB dies, all things will be better! Trust me, it isn't going to get better -- with KBB (Katie Brown Blackburn) and her husband waiting in the wings (did we ALL forget about the time that MBB appointed his daughter as head of Player Personnel? You forgot about that one dintcha? All one can hope for is that in future leagues (who knows, It might be the AGMBLG (The Anti-Gravity Moon Ball League of the Galazy) by then... that TPTB get smart and do something similar to how they do it (Please don't be a hater -- there isn't much that they do right but they did in this case) in Europe with their 'football' leagues. If you team isn't up to snuff, you drop out of the Premier League and your team has to fight its way back in.
We should have let MBB go when he threatened to leave prior to PBS being built. But we were too chickens#*t to do so! That's our fault.
Just remember all, it isn't going to get any better. Let's just let that team rot (it stinks already) and pray that the NFL will take mercy on us and give us another team. Remember, MBB is a business man and that is how he sees this. As a business man, he is right on top of things. The problem is, this type of thing can't be run as a business. That's why the successful owners of championship caliber teams have more than just one line of business. They know that to have a winner, they aren't going to make the best business decisions in order to be a winner. With another viable business, they can afford to do this.

speaking as just one media member, i don't know of any media member that isn't saying 'they haven't lost a game in three weeks' as anything other than a sarcastic joke. i know i announced it pretty early in ot when i mentioned a tie and everyone laughed. anyone not laughing at that has a serious lack of a sarcasm detector

Shut down Carson. Resign TJ. Trade CJ. Draft an O-Lineman.
Hire a GM. Supply said GM with some scouts
Who says it's hard to run an NFL team?
Posted by: Flash | November 17, 2008 at 03:27 PM
NO! He should come back. Once we show he is still good, we can trade him for a late third round pick.

Carson has it right. MBB(as he calls him most perfectly) will never have any incentive to change not even one thing. The reason that he hired Marvin had more to do with league pressure to have minority head coaches rather than rewarding the faithful taxpayers of Hamilton County. Remember, Marvin was the first outside of the existing org. coach that MBB hired.
And let's face it, say what you will about Marvin, he still has the best coaching record during the MBB regime. He's also only one of two Bengal's coaches to ever posess a Superbowl ring...the other being Forest Gregg.
At any rate, what we should be doing is completely boycotting the Bengals to the point that their attendance resembles that of The Cincinnati Slammers.
Our goal should not be to make them better. Our goal should be to prove that we are better than they are(the Brown family). We should make it clear that we have respect for ourselves, and that we are not going to keep ponying up good money after bad for their three card monty scam of a football team. I guarentee you that Mike Brown gets a real kick out of this nonsense. He beat the IRS, and he's really beat the snot out of us.
Let's show him up. Let's simply stop caring! Let's get behind the Bearcats and all of the small college and high school programs that really give us something to cheer about! Let's encourage MBB to keep doing what he's doing! Our new chant should be: "Whodey, Whodey, Whodey think gonna beat that point spread!"

And while you're at it, hit up a Bearcats game. #1 in the Big East and more wins in 1991 since the Bengals despite only 7 Bowl appearances and 74 less games.
Bearcats record 1991-present: 103-105-0 (.496)
Bengals record 1991-present: 98-183-1 (.349)

Peter King said the Bengals are a team with a lot of players playing not to get hurt. Guess where that idea comes from. Palmer not playing! Carson is getting paid millions to wait till next year. He is part of the Bengals team and if he is healthy he should play no matter who he is, besides we weren't doing that well with him before he stopped playing.
