In what will become a running feature on WDR, Comrade Adam writes in with some creative ideas on how Marvin Lewis can spin the Bengals next "ALMOST win."
Dear Comrade,I would like to offer an idea for a new post to the site. Much like your witty, and yet insanely accurate, stabs at thepost game analysis before the game even happens, I think you should take a stab at what analogy Marvin Lewis will use following the next ALMOST win to describe what his team needs to do to prepare to battle for the next game. We've heard the usual worn out clichés like digging holes and chiseling and even some curious new ones like comparing football to riding a bike. He already used every tired analogy in the book.
So here are some new analogies Marvin can use in press conferences.
I offer up a childhood favorite to go with his juvenile press conference non-answers and pouty faces. ML will say, I told our guys we just need to keep painting by numbers. Look, the lines are drawn for us and there are directions about what color to put where. Right now we have some guys who like to put blue where red should go and that is hurting our picture. We just need to keep rinsing our paint brushes in between strokes and we' ll be fine.
Or, ML could use a seasonal analogy and say: "We just need to keep picking the pumpkins. We have to get out there in the pumpkin patch, keep our heads down and pick those pumpkins. I actually like our pumpkins, other than the fact that they are stinky and rotting on the vine. I tell our guys that if we just keep picking pumpkins eventually the Great Pumpkin will arrive and allow us to do some good things as a football team
Your Brother in D-Baggedness,
Comrade Adam

Too funny! I could see ML actually using the paint by numbers one.
