Who Dey Revolution Manifesto

  • Preamble

    IN THIS TIME of perpetual Cincinnati Bengals incompetence and futility, with zero playoff wins in the eighteen seasons since the WhoDeyRevolution Godfather, Paul Brown, passed away in 1991 and handed the team to his fortunate son, the Despot, Mike Brown;

    Introduction

    WE, the members of the Who Dey Revolution, in our fervent dedication to the Cincinnati Bengals and fanatical desire to transform our hometown team into perpetual Super Bowl contenders, call for a popular revolution of fans to demand comprehensive reform to the managerial decisions and approach of Cincinnati Bengals ownership, management, staff and players, and hereby call for the adoption of the following Who Dey Revolution Manifesto:

    Manifesto Demands

    THAT the Mike Brown, Katie Blackburn, Marvin Lewis, along with every other member of the Bengals management, staff and personnel, state publicly to all Bengals fans, “I will do everything in my power to help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl;”

    THAT Mike Brown will hire a general manager, drastically expand the scouting department and relinquish all control of player personnel;

    THAT all training, rehabilitation and medical facilities are considered best-in-class compared to other NFL teams;

    THAT the management fill the team only with players who fit the system, both mentally and physically, and are not reluctant to makes changes to player personnel when needed, regardless of cost or loyalty concerns;

    THAT offensive and defensive line depth is considered the top priority for all player personnel decisions;

    THAT all decisions made by ownership, management, staff and players, both on and off the field, are judged only by this criterion: “Does this help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl?”

I Never Thought It Would Come To This.

It was a sad day in my fantasy league yesterday, as I regretfully announce that my team had to part ways with Carson Palmer. To add insult to injury he was dropped to make room for the crazy bad Bobby Wade. You might be asking who Bobby Wade is? Well I don't know who he is either so don't look to me for an answer. I haven't even assigned him a locker yet. I thought it might be too soon, since Palmer hasn't officially cleared out his stuff. I'm not Mike Brown though, so he won't have to pay for the cleaning of his locker.

Palmer1

Caption: Palmer and I had our ups and downs over the years but today was by far the hardest to get through. We laughed, we cried, we said our goodbyes.

Seriously though, it wasn't all your fault Carson. Don't take it as a reflection on yourself. Just because the o-line let you get gangraped constantly all game every game you played in doesn't mean you'll always be the damaged fantasy goods that you currently are.  I'm trying to lead the best football team I can onto the field of the net and I can't allow your mangled elbow to hurt my bench depth any more this year. My team has too many injuries right now and you were the most expendable. Plus you're being tended to by the Bengals staff so you probably won't be healthy again for 2 or 3 years.

Fantasy football is a business and hopefully we can work together again in a couple years when we both are over this and can look back and laugh about how I cut you before you were officially out for the year. Then we'll both say, "What wild heedless times those were." Think about it this way, at least I didn't toss you out like a big bag of trash for a bye week replacement kicker. Or maybe I did, I made a lot of moves. There's no need to hash them all out. As a retirement gift I want you to have this cassette of the always uplifting Boys II Men. You'll feel better in no time.

I dropped him last week for a second defense in a bye week. It wasn't even a good defense. I felt dirty. But until Boomer is available on my fantasy board, there isn't a Bengal qarterback worth rostering.

You're not alone. I parted ways with him last week. In our league, if you drop a QB you have to pick up a QB. My best choice? Matt Hasselbeck.

I did the same think for CHAD PENNINGTON...I died a little that day.

Dear Carson's Right Elbow,

Please, please, please do not let the Bengals medical staff destroy you. Leave their facility now and do not return until you are healthy.

Trust us.

Your's truly,
