The Bengals are 0-6, again. Blame is being put at the feet of many sources (most of them justified) - Bratkowski's play calling and anemic offense, Chris "Binary" Perry's running abilities (Binary because he only runs in 0 and 1 yard clips) and Marvin's hilariously low expectations, among others. But we here at WDR want to remind you that EVERYTHING filters back to one source - Mike Brown.
The solution to the Bengals issues is quite simple - hire guys who understand football, spend money on scouts, training facilities and medical staff and get the fuck out of the way.
But it is hard to keep banging your head on the wall when Bengals fans have done so for 18 years and nothing has changed. Then you read a story like this and want to punch Mike Brown right in the throat.
Masslion High School, the team Paul Brown coached from 1932-1940, has just opened an indoor practice facility. Don't forget that the Bengals are the team furtherst North in the NFL without an indoor practice complex and that during the run-up to the 2005 playoff game (you know, the only one the Bengals have been in in 18 years), the team was forced to take a bus to Mason, OH to practice in an indoor soccer stadium.
How does Mike Brown respond to this development? By reminding Bengals fans why he is such a lost cause.
"Massillon High School is ahead of us," observed Cincinnati Bengals President Mike Brown, the eldest son of legendary Massillon, Browns and Bengals coach Paul Brown. "We don't have one [an indoor practice facility]....My father believed in the football program being on the cutting edge. Today, this indoor facility certainly is on the cutting edge for high school football, and it's consistent with what he did many, many years ago."
SO WHY DON'T YOU FOLLOW THE LEAD OF A HIGH SCHOOL AND INSTALL ONE IN CINCINNATI YOU OLD CHEAP BASTARD?

Just look go to Forbes estimated NFL profitability of NFL teams. In the past 5 years, under Marvin and in the new stadium when it has sold out the Bengals pre tax and interest profits were something like a cumulative 50 - 100 million dollars. All for Mike, Katie, Troy, Pete, Paul Jr & friends. Multiples more than anyone dreams of making in their lifetimes. Not to mention they make it on a subsidy by taxpayers.
By spending one year's of profits we could have that training facility.

Another complaint: the team's lean scouting staff, among the smallest in the league. “Other teams' coaches were studying football and doing football things — playbooks and training reels and studying what other teams were doing. We were on the road, as soon as the season ended,” Mr. Wyche said.
again, I've been hit in the head and am very dizzy.

“Super Bowl teams do not make as much money as the public thinks. Revenues are shared among all 28 teams and expenses are only borne by the teams that play in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl teams lose more money in the following years because they have to pay their players more for their superior performance.”
Un-freaking-believable. This document is priceless.

“Our problem might be that we haven't gotten quite the team together that we need. But that's typical. We've had some things that were pretty tough breaks,” he said.
Straight out of 2008, I mean 1999, I mean 2011, nooooooo!

Wow. That is deeply disturbing.
Don't get me wrong - I meant I am disturbed about the HS with the indoor practice field - not the comment about punching MB in throat.
I am totally okay with that part.

I bet the Massilon assistant coaches are paid more than the clowns Mike Brown employs. They deserve it too.

I'm convinced he had a mild stroke after the '91 campaign. We need "House" to clean him up with some whiz-bang maverick serum. I might actually like that show then.
