Typical Mike Brown
In a cavalier business move made by Mike Brown yesterday, the Bengals will be sharing their practice field, training facilities and locker room with Brown's newly launched long term storage business.
Upon entering for practice, players saw Bob Bratkowski and Geoff Hobson carrying an elderly well off couple's grand piano into the locker room where they set it down in front of Levi Jones' locker, blocking him from his belongings. When Levi asked what was going on, Bratkowski told him that until he starts blocking again, the piano would be staying, and that Levi might as well learn a couple songs because everyone knows you suck.
Marvin Lewis remains optimistic that this won't affect his team's play.
"We can't worry about things we can't control," Lewis said to a gathering of reporters while sitting atop the piano where he had just crooned a couple Curtis Mayfield songs. "As long as we limit the big plays and put in a little extra time at getting all these these boxes organized, we'll be in good position to compete for some wins and more new business."
It was also mentioned that the concourses and seats at the stadium may be used for storage after all is said and done. Season ticket holder Ernie Fendruneski has already received a letter in the mail from Bengal's attorneys saying that unless he renews his tickets for 10 more years the Bengals have the right to use his seats as storage for a suede ottoman and accompanying footstool. Fendruneski calls it one of the lower things the Bengals have tried to pull on him over the years, but certainly not the lowest.
Katie Blackburn released a statement earlier saying, "The Bengals organization feels the need to diversify their businesses in order to stay afloat in these challenging economic times. Furthermore, we have so much space hear at Paul Brown Enterprises, it just made sense to turn this place into a dual use company. Plus we get a write off or something, I haven't read all the legalese yet."
